I’m gonna start this by saying I have yet to watch the Lifetime series “Surviving R. Kelly”. I didn’t know it was coming out and my schedule wasn’t agreeable with it’s air time. I also have a rule about watching anything after it’s gone viral. At least not until a decent amount of time has elapsed and it’s kinda drifted outta sight. I have however read some of the excerpts and everyone’s feedback.
All I can say is I’m not shocked. If anyone in my age group can think back to our day’s in high school, and how many females were alleged to have been involved with grown men. And how it was almost viewed as a normal thing in some places for a 16 year old girl to be involved with someone 5 or 6 years older. Sometimes more. And no one would really bat an eye.
But now most of those same young ladies now have daughters that are in the same predicament. And in most cases the mom’s now realize the dynamics that go into a situation such as that. And they all know from experience how easy it is to fall down the hole. And they don’t want their daughters to have end up in a situation where they’re just trying to “Survive R. Kelly”.
